	Making a Purchase This is a secure website that enables users to buy books after browsing through our current selection. Select a category to view the books, and then click on any item that you wish to buy and place them in the shopping basket. Once you have finished your selection, click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for your Credit or Debit card details. Your order will then be despatched the next working day.
	Security All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when you order 128-bit encryption. They are only decrypted after reaching our computer. They are not held in clear text on any website. If you are browsing the site using Internet Explorer 6 you may experience some problems when trying to pay. If so, please email heidi@bookshop-thelakes.co.uk.
	Privacy Cumbria Books and The Lakes Bookshop do not release your details to any third party. Cookies are used on this shopping site to track the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store details if the ‘Remember Me’ option is selected. When paying by Credit or Debit card, we hold your details only until the processing of your order is complete so we require your details to be restated for each new order.
	Delivery All books in stock are dispatched on the next working day after your order is placed i.e. if you place an order on a Saturday your book will be despatched the following Monday. If there is likely to be a delay you will be informed by email. If the original delivery date cannot be met and you do not wish to wait, you can cancel your order and receive a full refund. When ordering goods from overseas, you may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once the package reaches your country - Cumbria books and The Lakes Bookshop are not liable for these charges. Uninsured parcels are sent at the customers own risk. We are happy to provide insurance details on request.
	Payment For credit card transactions we will require credit card details. We can take the following cards: Visa MasterCard Switch Delta We price all transactions in sterling. Conversion to other currencies will depend on the rate on each day. As a guide please refer to the currency converter.
	Returns If any item ordered is not to your satisfaction, please contact us by email within 14 days of receipt at: returns@bookshop-thelakes.co.uk
